Twilight Taste of Ogilvie
Last night, Friday 13 March 2009, Ogilvie High School had a Twilight Taste, which was an event held at the school promoting food, fun, entertainment, activities, bargains and stalls, and raising funds to invest back into the school.
Bridgette, one of our group the Tassie Inkydinks and who has a daughter attending Ogilvie High, suggested that we have a stall at the Twilight Taste to raise funds for the school, through a raffle, as well as promoting Stampin' Up! Nicki and I joined her in this endeavour (as my daughter also attends Ogilvie High) and together we donated items for the raffle prizes. The first prize included catalogues, stamp sets, cardstock, inkpads, pre-made cards, snail adhesive etc to a value in excess of $200 and a second prize of cardstock, stamp set, ribbon etc to a value of $40. We also tried to have a demonstration running during the time of the event 4 pm to 7 pm, however, due to the occasional rain showers which caused wet inkspots on our creations we only managed this for a short time.
Overall, the event was fun and we raised $101 in total for the school. Nicki may have a workshop lead from the lady who won first prize and who was present at the draw, she was most pleased to win!
Thanks again to Bridgettte for organising this and making the stall look so appealing. Below are a few photos taken at the Twilight Taste.

Tassie Inkydinks have grown!
The Tassie Inkyinks have grown in number since the last post on this blog! We are now 10 in number spread from the top end of Tassie to the bottom. Unfortunately due to our busy lives we have not been able to get together face to face for a while but some keep in contact via email and 'pop' into blogs from time to time.
Hopefully some of our group will share bits of what they have been doing, especially in Stampin' Up!, on this blog soon. Thanks for stopping by.

Tassie Inkydinks Get Together
Our group the Tassie Inkydinks get together every alternate month to share ideas, techniques, swaps and generally to have fun with whatever Stampin' Up! brings our way. We recently met on Thursday night (thanks Maree for hosting it at your place) and although we were small in number this time, for a variety of reasons, we still had a great time and shared lots of ideas and talents.
Each time we meet we have a swap theme and this time it was a 'wedding' theme to give ideas to one of our members, Nicki who recently got engaged. Below are the swaps that were shared.

Another thing we do when we meet is someone volunteers to do a 'make and take' to share a technique or idea with the rest of the group. This is a great way to learn new ideas or to see a different approach to something we have done before. Everyone enjoyed this session's 'make and take' in which Maree showed us how to make a 'Double Pocket Card' in two different styles using a sheet of double-sided Designer Paper. I am sure our next workshops are going to include this demonstration as it was a fun and easy card to make. Although we did not decorate our cards at the meeting, I promised Maree that I would not post them to our group's blog until I had embelished the fronts and could really show how stunning they can be (see below for photos of the two styles Maree showed us how to create). Hopefully others are able to post here the final creations they made from this technique.
